Sam riding at the Master's Games

Zone Games 2007

The Zone games were brilliant held at Leven grounds on the 6th May. Many thanks to the life members who helped with getting these games running smoothly. Linden Evans did a wonderful job in setting up the arena and was Chief Judge on the day with Snow Hortle starting the games.

Some very impressive riding was done by the Division 2 team, they received 2nd place, well done girls. Leonie Agius coached this team : Georgia Agius, Georgia Pearce, Anna Van de Muelen, Julie anne Walker, Shelley Smithers & Britney Cooper.

My word didn’t Britney do a mighty job on Dolly they looked so cute. Monica Lee rode for the scramble team of Circular head, she did a great job for her first zone games day.

The Division 1 girls came 3rd after winning many games throughout the day and their skills have improved out of sight. Sue Docherty coached Brooke & Tanaha Smithers, Laura Walker, Kelsey Cooper, Sabrina Docherty, Sarah Steers.

State Games 2007

We were 1st or 2nd majority of the day, it came down to a tie breaker for 2nd or 3rd placing, we received the 3rd ribbon after a very exciting and challenging day. Great work girls very proud of your efforts in the games, some brilliant riding again throughout the day.

Well, what a day! I haven't had so much fun for ages, well done everyone on such a great day! Every single rider seemed to be having fun and the weather was perfect!

I had such fun watching the "couples plus Leonie" do their thing- I hope your back is ok Ken! Seb you are definitely not a dressage rider - Games are your thing! And you three ladies were awesome. Ken I will remember your run home in the strip tease for some time. Sam I hope you can walk today! Candy and Casey were a great pair-you wouldn't know that the games were new to Casey. Leonie and her trustworthy steed were very accurate and honest.

The endurance crew were led well by Sue who gave precise directions which they all followed well- Except Gambler and Jo's Pallie, they thought it was all about spectator knock down!!!! You girls seemed to be having a crazy time it was great to watch!

My team- I will name them "Leven's blast from the past" had so much fun it was crazy. Craig was awesome on Tania's horse in trying circumstances, and his flag pick up at 100km/hr was the highlight of the day for me! Deanne was flat stick on Hoppy, Leah was crutched by her G string!!!! (hadn't ridden for so long she forgot not to wear it!!!!!!! I thought Belle behaved just great and wasn't too crazy- I was actually the slowest! Well all except for my length of bucking but I just put that in to keep the crowd entertained!

Our gear stewards were Fantastic for 1st timers a huge thank you-well done Brent and Shane.

All the girls on the drums did a super job, I know Georgia had sore legs from standing all day!

Big thanks to scorers, announcers, judges. A huge thanks to Linden for donating the major raffle prize, we raised over $100 which was great. Thanks to Sarah B and My Scott for going around and selling the tickets.

AN ENORMOUS EFFORT BY BEC AND HER CANTEEN WORKERS. I SAW BEC, LOIS AND BEC'S MUM IN THERE FLAT OUT FOR A LONG TIME. WELL DONE BEC YOU ARE A LEGEND!
